Help A Charity: Fundraiser + Huge Giveaway

We would all like to help at least one charity, event, community, drive, and effort out there. There's so many, I don't even know which one to choose. So if you know of any -- or have a particular "favorite" -- please do let me know which one that is. For what, you ask? For a fundraiser for them, and for a HUGE giveaway for you, right here on the blog.

'Help A Charity' is an event where we will all try to donate at least a $1 each to a specific Paypal account, and send them over to the chosen charity. And yes, if you were wondering, there WILL be proof that your donations will indeed go to the charity.

Everyone who helps out in any way will be automatically entered to the giveaway, and there will be a lot of prizes! Such prizes up for grabs would be signed bookmarks, buttons, and even books from various different authors, you may know ;) But in order to begin this said giveaway, I will need ideas and choices for different charities! Leave a comment and let me know which charity you would love us to donate to and we'll choose later on.

If you would like to co-host this event with me, or donate to the prize pack, please feel free to e-mail me. The more, the merrier! Comments, suggestions, feedback, let me know as well. Also, please spread the word, if you can. Thanks everyone!

  1. Hi, Jillian, I know a great charity, but do you want a small group in Australia? I work for Sonshine Sanctuary once a week or so. We take in victims of domestic violence and their children. We accommodate them for up to 12 weeks, help them access the services and counseling they need, enroll their kids in school, support them in court and help them find a permanent home. The women who work there are amazing, and were strictly volunteer for about 12 years! We get no government funding and are about to loose the pittance the workers are paid (I volunteer, btw, so the $$ are not for me!) Because it is not government funded, we can take in women who have been homeless for a while, sleeping on the beach or friends' couches. Government refuges require a woman to leave a dangerous situation, and homeless doesn't qualify!

  2. What a generous idea, Jillian. My charity of choice would probably be To Write Love On Her Arms. Others would be for the ones who are victims of domestic, sexual, & abuse for women and children.

  3. Thank you so much for the feedback Delynne and May :) There's been several people who emailed me as well about which charities they want. I think we have chosen two perfect ones; a literacy charity and one to feed children across the world. I absolutely can not wait for this fundraiser+giveaway to begin :)

  4. I just have read your good idea on how to raise funds on a charity. I hope that you would be able to do good deeds to those who are in need.
