I can not resist a bookstore. I support all kinds and all types from big box stores like Barnes and Noble to online stores like Book Depository. I do have a special place in my heart for independently owned book shops though, and when I can, I will buy from them specifically.
2015 was no different. I visited many bookstores. There's just something about walking through rows and rows of shelves filled with stories written by passionate storytellers. It's such a simple thing, but sometimes it's the little things like this in life that make everyday much more special.
I couldn't agree more! I don't always even buy anything, but I love to just be IN a bookstore. Something about being surrounded by so many books that is comforting to me. And small bookstores always have such unique character. I have several used bookstores in my area that I love to just go and browse for a few hours. One of them even has a cat that greets people and follows them around the store. They have so many books that they're stacked to the ceiling. I love it!
ReplyDeleteAgreed! I went on a Barnes and Noble date with my mom this past weekend. It's wonderful to just spend time browsing in a big or small store!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you. The personal touch in independent bookstores just makes them more fun to browse through. Plus, there is usually something fun to discover in them.
ReplyDeleteBookstores are so relaxing, like taking a break from the real world. They provide such a nice escape--and of course, you get to check out all the fantastic books! Hope you're enjoying your 2016!

We have only
ReplyDeleteBarnes and Noble in our town plus a few used book stores. I would love to visit Powell's in Portland, Oregon, for one.
