I read this first before seeing the movie. Believe it or not, I liked the movie better. (Weird, I know) Maybe it was because Natalie Portman was awesome as Ann Boleyn; she played it perfectly!
I did not like the book as much. Don’t get me wrong, I like the story. But I’ve never been a fan of Philippa Gregory’s writing. And it seems like she just never gets her historical facts straight. And I know it doesn’t matter but I swear, if I counted how many times she mentioned the word “treason,” it would be over a 100. Sorry if that was mean.
Watch the movie instead for mere entertainment.
