Age Appropriate: For Adults and/or Mature Young Adults (18+, perhaps?)
Synopsis: Wrath is solitary; likes to be alone, prefers to be alone. But when one of the most trusted fighters, Darius -- who has also become a good friend of his -- in the Brotherhood is killed, he agrees on his final request.
Darius' daughter, Beth, doesn't know that she is a half-vampire. She doesn't know that sooner or later, she will go through a horrific transition. Wrath has no other choice but to aid and guide her, through this experience,. What Wrath and Beth never expected was for them to go to unexpected territories they both never even thought were possible.
Review: I have read paranormal and romance novels before, but not as much. And certainly not of the two combined. With Dark Lover as my first, I have to say, I really enjoyed this one. I liked the idea of the plot. I liked how it's fast-paced. I liked that though there were some pretty cliche and soap opera-ish moments, I still thought they were done really well. It wasn't too much; there's just enough of everything you like about the genre.
I have to say though, the best thing about this book are definitely its characters. They are as complex as I wish any character to be. In fact, I am intrigued by them so much that I will definitely be reading the rest of the books in this promising series, hopefully soon, just so I can get to know them more.
Note that this book is probably not for everyone. But if you like Paranormal novels, Romance, and/or both combined, I recommend this one. It is a fun, unique, and dark story, that offers a different, romantic, and modern take on the classic tale of the vampire lore.

After seeing some of the books from the series around other blogs I'm kind of curious about it. I might just have to give it a read now.
ReplyDeleteI love this series!! I have read up to book 8 and it's a really great series. If you read more you MUST read up to book 3 :) It was my favorite!
ReplyDelete@Adriana: It's pretty good. Really different from what I usually read. I don't usually like Romance novels. :)
ReplyDelete@Bookaholic: I can't wait to read the rest. Too bad our local library doesn't have all the copies of the series. I'm sure I'll find a way though.
This is one of my favortie series I have read ! I started it and couldn't put it down (any of them) Wrath is very strong and his love for Beth has no limits... This book is an amazing read, it shows you that Vampires are still so romantic and their love for their ladies has no boundries....
