Charity Fundraiser and Huge Giveaway!!!

Sunday, August 1, 2010

We've been so excited planning for this event, and now it's finally here! 'Help A Charity' is a fundraiser event where we will try to come up with as much monetary donation as possible to give to two chosen charities. When you donate, not only will you help out those in need but also be automatically entered into the huge international giveaway!

When:
August 1st - October 31st, 2010

The Goal
The main reason we came up with this event is because we genuinely want to help others in need. We know the three of us can not do this alone, and so that is why we decided to reach out to you. We figured the best way we could go about doing this is to ask this amazing book blog community to join and cooperate together for a great cause. With as little as 50 cents, $1, or perhaps more, it will eventually add up and we might be able to give something substantial.

The Charities
First Book
- provides new books to children in need addressing one of the most important factors affecting literacy -- access to books.
Save the Children
- Save the Children is the leading independent organization creating lasting change in the lives of children in need around the world. Recognized for our commitment to accountability, innovation and collaboration, our work takes us into the heart of communities, where we help children and families help themselves.

very IMPORTANT: please read
1. Paypal offers 100% security and privacy. It will NOT show any of your bank/credit card account information to us or to anyone. Your name and email addresses are all we will see.
2. Any amount you are willing to give is accepted. You can give as little and as much as you would like.
3. There are no extra entries for this giveaway, so everyone has an equal chance of winning. However, we do ask you, if it's at all possible, for you to spread the word (tweet, sidebar, etc) about it regardless. That would mean so much, and will be greatly appreciated!

Again, thank you so very much for taking the time to visit and read this! And thank you to all the authors who took the time to donate to the prize pack, and to you guys for all the support! The three of us can only hope for this event to work out well, and we know its success relies mainly on the amount of people participating, so please do spread the word in any way possible! Tweet about it, make a blog post, put our badge on your sidebar, or just link this post! Every single contribution you have given and will give to help this event is appreciated well beyond words.

  1. This is such a sweet and wonderful idea! Unfortunately, I don't have any money of my own at the moment. :(

Maybe I can wheedle some out of my parents, who knows? :D All I know is, I'll tweet/sidebar/blog about this as much as possible just to help spread the word. Good luck!
