Goodbye 2014. Hello 2015.

Monday, January 5, 2015

I only read 35 books in 2014, but I think it was a pretty good year. I've read a variety of books in different genres. Some of them I disliked, some I was disappointed with, some I absolutely loved. I think the top 3 books I've read this year has got to be:
For 2015, I aim to read at least 50 books, blog more like I used to, and continue writing more. I've put a stop on my writing for a while, but I definitely want to fix that.

What are some of the best books you've read this year, and what books would you recommend me? Also, what are your new year's resolutions and goals for this year? Let me know.

  1. Reading 35 wasn't that bad. I only read 28 books myself. (Such a disappointment)

Gone Girl has been on my TBR pile for a while now. And I have yet to watch the movie adaptation. Was is good?

Have you read Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas? It's freaking amazing! I don't know if you'd like it but give it a try some other time :)

    1. I've not read Throne of Glass, thanks for that recommendation. And I do recommend you watching the film! I thought it was excellent! (and reading the book of course)

  2. Burial Rites is such a good book, I loved it too.
My only resolution for books this year is to not worry about numbers or genres. to just enjoy reading as much as possible.
    Happy reading in 2015!

  3. Your goals are the exact same as mine. :) I love Gone Girl, read it last year. My favourite of 2014 was probably The Shock of the Fall. :) x

If you enjoyed Gone Girl, I recommend The Girl on the Train. I really enjoyed it.

    1. Thank you Brandie :)
I will also check out The Girl on the Train. I've actually seen that as a recommended book on goodreads, so I'll add it to my pile for sure.

  5. I think perhaps I need to jump on this Gone Girl bandwagon, since it's gotten so much buzz (and plus, now that there's a film...). I read an embarrassingly few number of books last year, but of those I read, I quite liked Attachments by Rainbow Rowell, The Woman in Black by Susan Hill, Strands of Bronze and Gold by Jane Nickerson, and The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin. Here's to reading more books this year!

    1. I definitely recommend everyone to at least try Gone Girl. I think that even those who didn't like it as much really gave it credit for its thrill and unique plot. I've never read The Woman in Black, but have always wanted to. Maybe this year will be the year for that.
