The truth is, I read, whenever I get the chance, no matter where I am. I can read in public, like in the book store, the library, the park, in the car, etc. I have to admit though, my two favorite places are where it allows me to be alone for a while, lost in whatever the book is.
I have to say, without a doubt, that my favorite place to read is in my bed room.
I love this place! It's nothing too big, or grand, but to me, it's just perfect! It's cozy, and has everything I need -- a lamp, my closet, a dresser, a study table, my books & my bookshelves, and a bed. What else can I ask for?
I will spare you though, and not show any pictures, but I will show you another one of my favorite reading spaces.
This is actually my mom's reading nook, but I go here too, whenever I get the chance. But as much as I would like to stay here more often, I actually don't, because the TV in the living room is usually on, and I tend to get distracted. But I love this place all the same. The reading lamp is just perfect, and the couch is comfortable -- and quirky looking, yes?
All that's left for me to do is curl up with the current read on my hands, and my usual English Breakfast tea sitting on the coffee table right in front of it.

great post! I'm the same way, I read whenever and wherever I get a chance! My favorite spot is probably my bed ha because I can lie down and curl up in blankets: perfection. I also like going to school and going to the tenth floor of the library and curling up with my book, It's quiet and no one bugs me.

I can read just about anywhere, including the car, and am the person you trip over at the library or in the bookstore, but my favorite place to read is my old, "comfy chair." It's almost as great as your mom's couch!

Well, lately I've been reading mainly in the car. I like reading in bed, at the breakfast table or on the couch--- but anywhere will do.

ReplyDelete@Sarah: That is pretty much my main reason why my bed in my room is my favorite place. It's the most comfortable spot/position to read, isn't it? And I also just love privacy when I read too, where it's really just me and the book.

ReplyDeleteMy usual spot for reading is in bed. My favorite spot is on a sandy ocean beach, and my second favorite is stretched out on the couch. But we live in Denver (no ocean), and my husband is often on the couch with the TV on. So, bed it is.
@Cara Lopez Lee: How I'd love to read at the beach! What you just said made me wish for vacations that are impossible to have anytime soon, due to the unpredictable weather of San Francisco. Oh well, it's nice to dream about it for now.
