My Reading Spaces

I bring my book everywhere I go: work, trips, appointments. I will read anywhere and everywhere if there's a chance to. It's even better if I can get the chance to read outdoors like on the beach or a quiet park. However, my favorite place to read is in the comfort of our own house. 

 Specifically, I love hanging out on this couch during the day, during the weekends especially. Since I am only 5'1, I fit just fine laying on it sideways, with my leg up the arm rest. It's pretty comfortable, and I just adore that it has kind of a quirky design. My dog likes to keep me company on here too, which makes it even better.


My favorite place to read in though is my bedroom, and on my bed. It's a small, cozy bed, and it's just the best. I love the fact that the window is right next to me, so there's usually some wind flowing in. 


Ideally, someday, I dream of having a specific reading nook or library in my house. Maybe have a padded window seat, surrounded by bookshelves. That would be pretty awesome.

    Looks like you have some cozy reading spots! I also like to read in bed. On a nice, sunny day, I like to read outside on the deck.

      It is pretty relaxing to be able to read outside when it's warm and the sun is shining on you.

    I do most of my reading in bed, too. Sometimes 3-4 hours at a stretch. Since I retired I like to go out to breakfast at a local coffee shop with my book, also. They have excellent coffee and there is real camaraderie with all of the regulars.

      Yes, the bed is the best place for sure for long stretches of reading. And ah, nothing beats a great local coffee shop! It usually always has the perfect atmosphere for reading.

    Both your bed and the chair look so cozy and perfect! My favorite spot to read is on the left side of my couch, which reclines. I have a faux fireplace/heater directly in front of me. It helps set the cozy mood. ;)

      I want a recliner someday in my reading nook! And ah, reading in front of the fireplace sounds wonderful.

    Oh man, one day when we're rich we will for sure have to have our own libraries!! That would be the dream. In the meantime though, my favourite places are also my comfy chair and bed and they're pretty great too :)

    Love your reading spots; they look cozy too!
    For me, I'll usually read sitting on our living room sofa; because it's shaped like an L so I can lie down if I want.

    Cozy looking reading spots. I like my couch, bed, the bathtub is a big one, outside at McDonalds during lunch break on their patio, outside on my porch when the screen is fixed and the weather is right.

    I had, for a few years, an amazing reading room. Then my son moved back home. Sigh.
