Top Ten Picks: Book Series

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

Top Ten Picks will be a weekly post here in this blog that talks about just that -- my top 10 picks! Every week, there will be a different and specific topic given. I will then choose 10 of my favorites from that given category, create the list, and post them up here!
For week one, the topic will be on 'Book Series.'
In a variety of different genres, in no particular order, here are my picks.

Top Ten Favorite Book Series

1. Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
2. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
3. Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan
4. The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis
5. The Lord of the Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien
6. His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman
7. Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella
8. Jane Rizzoli/Maura Isles series by Tess Gerritsen
9. The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice
10. Animorphs by K.A. Applegate <-- as a kid, this was my favorite! :D

There you have it. What are yours? I would love to hear your answers, and everyone is absolutely welcome to join!
All you have to do is:
1. Do a post similar to this, listing all of your answers. It can be in any genre, and does not have to be in any particular order.
2. Please sign the Mr. Linky box below. Enter the specific blog post URL that will lead directly to your actual post. It'll be a lot easier for us to find it! Also, you do not need to have "Top Ten Picks" as your title. Feel free to be creative!

Important: Your last day to answer this topic will be on March 29th, Monday. On March 30, Tuesday, a week from now, the topic will change. However, you can still list -- and add it to Mr. Linky -- your 'Book Series' picks whenever you'd like, even if the topic has already changed.

I can't wait to read yours! :)

  5. This is a cool idea, unfortunately I haven't read enough series to total ten. Maybe I'll have better luck with your next category!

  6. I like your picks too-- the ones I'm familiar with. There are 3 that I haven't heard of and need to check out. Saw the Percy Jackson movie and plan to start reading that series.

Didn't put it on my list but I really liked His Dark Materials too.

  11. Oh I guess I saw this too late form Mr. Linky. Not sure of your dates though as the 23rd was Tuesday (just yesterday). Did you mean to post next Monday the 29th?

Thanks for a fun meme. I couldn't keep my list to 10 though.

  21. It took me so long to choose only 10 series to list on my own blog.
I've never heard of the Jane Rizzoli/Maura Isles series by Tess Gerritsen. I might just have to check it out!
